The ward is on the first floor of the new wing of the hospital complex in Viale Ginevra 3, in Aosta. It has 15 rooms organised as follows:
- 2 rooms with 1 bed
- 7 rooms with 2 beds
- 4 rooms with 4 beds
all have washing and toilet facilities.
Moreover there are 2 rooms with 1 bed reserved for private practice operations, with air-conditioning, telephone, armchair and colour TV.
The ward is equipped with assisted bathrooms for handicapped people.
The administrative secretary and the obesity surgery secretary are also based in the ward.
Method of recovery
Access to the ward is for planned patient recovery in hospital.
The surgeon, having performed the first test, gives information about the hospitalisation period.
The pre-operatory basic tests are normally followed in the pre-hospitalisation phase, without any expense incurred by the user.
Waiting times are differentiated on the basis of the urgency, importance and seriousness of the illness.
Some of the ward's activities
Medical checks
The ward round of medical checks takes place in the morning from 8.00 am to 12.00 pm and in the afternoon from 5.00 pm to 6.30 pm.
Information to relatives
The ward doctor is available for interviews with relatives at the end of the medical round.
For a personal interview with the Director, however, one must arrange an appointment through the secretary.
Visiting hours
Access to the ward by relatives and visitors is not allowed during the medical round.
Meal times
Breakfast - 8.00 am
Lunch - 12.00 pm
Dinner - 7.00 pm
Times may be changed according to ward requirements.
Diet is personalised according to clinical requirements.
Method of discharge
Discharges usually take place at the end of the morning, at the end of the medical round.
The patient is given the discharge letter, any possible clinical and radiological documentation, and any other documentation which is deemed appropriate (diet plan, certificates etc.).
