The Valdostana Surgery Society (known as the SVC - Società Valdostana di Chirugia ) was founded in1984 by Prof. Umberto Parini, Consultant of the General Surgery Unit in the Aosta Valley Regional Hospital, situated in the Autonomous Region's capital.
The SVC - thanks to the serious and well-prepared professionals who are part of it - establish as their objective learning and dissemination of the most advanced surgical techniques, placing great emphasis on Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery in order to increase the use of less intrusive instruments, which involve minimum disturbance for the patient.Amongst the activities promoted by SVC, it is important to remember the organisation and promotion of many medical congresses at the national and international level.
Finally the SVC is a strong supporter of videosurgery techniques.
